The male comedian crying archive (both comedies and dramas allowed)

OK, I'm starting an archive again!!  I had set up some male and female sitcom-specific archives on the last forum and I know there are already some comedy and comedian-related clips on the forum that won't make it to this thread unless I repost them, but I like having a specific place to put them going forward, anyway... that way, they won't always need a thread of their own and I can also watch them pretty much back-to-back like a playlist.  I just have a big thing for seeing "funny guys" cry, I guess.  It's my thing.

So, on that note, my first entry is a nice teary Jim-Michael moment (from Steve Carell's last episode of the The Office)

Love that Office clip. I have to believe those are real tears, too, since it was Carell's last episode and all.

Re: The male comedian crying archive (both comedies and dramas allowed)

Yeah, it does seem real enough... certainly wouldn't have been much of a stretch for either actor to use their real goodbye feelings in the scene (love seeing Jim get choked up, too... wish he and Michael had gone even longer with it, but I guess that would probably be a bit too indulgent, so I'll just have to imagine it...)

I have definitely seen Carell 'fake cry' a lot on that show, though.  I'm going to try to limit this thread to fairly realistic looking cries (even if they are suspected fakes) but I think I might indulge in some of the over-the-top comedic ones as well, as long as there is some redeeming quality to them... while they don't turn me, sometimes they're cute, funny, or both.  And then once I see something like that, then I really want to see that actor cry for real... and THAT'S what turns me on (and frustrates me at the same time!)

Of course, some other over-the-top comedic crying scenes are totally cringe-worthy and basically make me run for the hills screaming.

OK, I NEED to see Stephen Colbert cry.  For REAL cry.  Alas, someday...

In the meantime, I'll let this one in, since I love the two "eyes in the back of the room" classroom scenes... fun concept (I'm afraid I would have to break that rule and keep looking!)

OK, I know what's so hot about that now... much like the announcement, "I'm gonna sneeze" is hot to most sneeze fetishists, "eyes to the back" is a nice substitute for, "I'm gonna cry".  And the embarrassment factor is also hot.

Re: The male comedian crying archive (both comedies and dramas allowed)

OK, I hope starting this thread isn't a bad idea, because I've just gone into one of my completely OBSESSIVE modes looking for a crying clip -- please, if anyone can put an end to this for me, that would be wonderful!!!

I don't know about other countries, but in Canada, you can't view Comedy Central video clips online.  Even if they've been reposted on another website, if the clip links back up to Comedy Central, then it is blocked due to some copyright deal.  The Comedy Network does show many of the same programs, but their online archives are not nearly as extensive as Comedy Central's.

Anyway, there is a clip I watched years ago that I want to see sooooo badly, but can't find a non-Comedy Central version of it (other than a few short seconds on YouTube where someone pointed a camera at their TV set, but this doesn't help).  It's when Jon Stewart announces Obama's win for the 2008 election.  It was live and Stephen Colbert was sitting right beside him.  I used to have a copy of this on VHS tape.

Anyway, this clip is noteworthy because afterwards, I started seeing all these articles and comments pop up where people were saying that Stephen Colbert cried for real (out of character) and that Jon Stewart was teary as well.  I was so puzzled because I went back and watched the clip several times and felt that they hadn't really cried at all, and that whatever Stephen had done had just been planned "in character" type of stuff.  Of course, understandably, I know they would have been feeling emotional at that moment - it was quite a historic day - but I just thought these reports and comments seemed so exaggerated.  It truly puzzled me.  So now I want to watch again anyway and scrutinize, looking for all the little hints of crying... there must be something there... I guess I am obsessed!!

Can anyone help a poor Canadian out?  This is killing me...

This is real! I saw an interview where John (Jim) said they were both sadder than the character's were supposed to be and had to hold back ohh i wish they hadn't
I'll also note that Jim is suchh a  hot crier, check out the (season 3 last episode) Casino night, and the episode Jim finds out he is having a baby girl! so hot

You were certainly right about John... aww, if only they'd saved *this* take for the blooper reel (doubtful... aww, that would be so touching to see!)

Oh, yay!  I keep thinking I'm the only one who would want to see this kind of stuff, haha.  Yeah, it's a great show.

Ever see Stephen's episode of Law and Order where he is accused of murder?  To me (and I swear I'm not imagining this), it looks like he's almost on the edge of crying throughout the last 10 minute scene.  He blinks and swallows a lot... so wonderfully frustrating!!  In fact, I'll admit, I totally get turned on by this clip, even though he doesn't cry.   I guess the dramatic music helps too.  Hmm, maybe it's relevant to the thread after all.  For me, the fetish can be just as much about someone feeling strong emotions... I guess repressed tears can also be crazy hot! (although I do prefer an eventual release at some point)  At times, he has the wounded puppy dog look, in my opinion.
