Juan Pablo Raba - Soap stuff

I found these clips on youtube, it's about a guy in a soap who finds out his mother was a stripper and a hooker and then all sort of tragic events emerge. It's mostly sad but at times i find some gestures a bit far fetched. I still like the tears though, he really seems to cry for real ( mostly in the last clip where he keeps on wiping his tears and new ones emerge) ....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOX4glY45B4 ( in the beginning, 18: 20)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rn1o9NKT2rE ( in the beginning, he forgives his mother,  at 15:30 it's the greatest scene i guess, tears springing in close up  )

( he tears up at 3:00 into the episode, then he breaks down at 7:15 respectively, the scene where his father dies, the dad cries too )

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzrufSlVAn4

( it starts at aprox 4:00 untill the end, it's very long, he cries hysterically at one point , on finding about the secret life of his mother who was a prostitute)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYVcm9S75Y0 ( here, he confronts his mother at the strip club, the end is where he is shown breaking down again)

This scene is continued in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSNLrtavKcU from 4:00 and on , his face is soaked with tears.

This is where he forgives his mother, the scene starts at 8:00 with tears https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asi47ku8XX4 and  sobbing at the beggining of this one :

And this one is the last one,  he is shown in close up, sobbing again when he sees the explosion , his mother dieing in it, i really love this scene , it's very cathartic :

Re: Juan Pablo Raba - Soap stuff

Thank youuuu, psychic_girl!

You're right, some gestures seem a bit far-fetched (it's a soap opera after all), but the crying is pretty good!
I wish I understood Spanish, though... so I know what's going on and what he said during the crying scenes. I like his broken voice in some of the scenes, esp. the scenes with his mom.

Re: Juan Pablo Raba - Soap stuff

I understand bits of it, some scenes are self-explanatory like the one where he talks to his mom in the hospital room or at the strip club. This is where he forgives her wrongdoings ( his mother was married to another man who was not the father of the protagonist, she was leading a double life, trying on one hand to lead with an iron fist her family  and keep up with their tradition and on the other she was a stripper at the night club where she had an affair with an interlope, the real father of the protagonist who dies too towards the end). Most of this story is reavealed in those final scenes where he is overcome with grief and shame ( latinos in soap operas were depicted as quite conservative folk, they couldn accept promiscuos behaviour on the part of the family members).
I saw parts of this show when i was 13 years old and i didn't quite like it at one point because some of the characters are annoying and the acting is not that good. I gave up watching it because of this and i missed those scenes. I found them recently on youtube and it seemed the ending is somehow better in terms of the major characters' acting manner and not that bad as i expected.
