I'm always so happy when someone else brings up the topic of crying and I can just listen, instead of me trying to steer the conversation.

Crying at work can be horrible if your co-workers aren't supportive. Sounds like your pretty barista has nice colleagues.

Kudos for keeping things respectful and non-sexual, especially since she was intoxicated. Speaking as someone who’s been grabbed in various places without consent during vulnerable moments, I’m glad you’re a gentleman.

Still, she picked a VERY intimate position. Not sure I would have gone for the wraparound while being comforted by a platonic friend.

Daisy Ridley definitely delivered! You're right those were tears during the water scene.

I'm only on episode 2 of The Witcher on Netflix but my god there are tears everywhere. Fingers crossed for a crying scene from Henry Cavill!

Even though you didn't actually cry, this is pretty cute.

Intense, loving eye contact is kind of my favorite thing. Have you seen this: https://mymodernmet.com/marina-abramovic-made-me-cry/
Basically, a whole bunch of people started to cry after maintaining eye contact with this artist. Sort of like the feeling I think you're describing?

Interesting, not long ago you mentioned you didn't mind your wife wiping your tears in public, I assumed you were relatively comfortable crying around people. So, when you cry in public places, does your wife cover you somehow to give you privacy? Does she take you yo a less concurred spot, or does she wipe your tears on the spot regardless of who is around?

I meant that I wouldn’t want to talk to a therapist in public. I feel like that needs to be done in private. Unless maybe she was dealing with social anxiety or agoraphobia, and being in public was part of the therapy? Who knows.

I just learned from a young age that I wasn’t good at holding back tears, so public crying was guaranteed to happen. I got used to crying in public during my gymnastics classes and competitions at around age 13-14 (I’ve posted about this before).

My wife doesn’t wipe my tears in any specific pattern. She just does whatever feels right depending on the situation (how many people are present, are we being looked at, how much makeup I’m wearing, etc)

I think most crying episodes are at least partially caused by negative emotion, and most people cry more easily from sadness than happiness. Even when someone is crying due to feelings of happiness or love, if you dig deep enough, there's often some underlying sadness/grief/loneliness/regret/fear. In the past year, I've cried maybe two times from pure positive emotion, and at least 20 times from negative emotion.

Whenever someone is crying over something really sad, of course we wish the sad thing didn't happen. But it did happen, and now they're crying and sharing their emotions with us. We witness their tears, we empathize, we do our best to help (if we can) and we move on.

This is so good.

Was she looking around at all? Did she notice you or anyone else watching her? God I'd be so self conscious if I was her. I can't imagine doing therapy in a coffee shop.
