Too bad we have no control over editing the article part (can the author be contacted?)
the author cannot be contacted because anyone can edit it and there may not be just one author anyway, it's a wiki. A wikipedia mod can revert to previous versions in case someone simply deletes or puts garbage there, but you can edit the article if you want. your ip is tracked though if thats a concern, but other than that you can edit it to make the article better if you want.

assume that it is something that only males have
Ah this is about that one site I found. Actually I saw the comment too, I remember.
There's something similar here:
It's probably not obvious and assumed to be predominantly male because the popular observation is of girls crying in japanese cartoons, so they think it's based on superiority of men. Probably they didn't check this forum, and even if they did they would probably not check too carefully anyway - like they would think woundedpuppy is male, for example.
There is also the assumption that everyone who likes crying wants to torture another person into crying, which is not necessarily true.

Huh? Sorry, I don't follow... what are you referring to?
Oh I just noticed your forum label is "Great One" and thought it was funny. I think it was just "Moderator" just like the other mods up until a few days ago, but I could be hallucinating.
Since I assume you changed it I thought you would know - on the other hand maybe you didn't change it, I dunno...haha!

does it come down much if you compress it with something like winzip - would really like a copy of this one if possible.
i believe you can probably only do what you are saying with uncompressed video, or video in an intermediary editing file format, and you still cannot do that with a zip compressor even then.
generally i believe video does not respond at all to zip or the other standard dictionary-based compressors. a video can obviously be reencoded to another format using a different video compressor which can reduce file size, but a lossless re-encode/recompression intended to reduce file size is not really an option with these h264 or other keyframe-based formats that are not intended to be edited further. Usually such attempts may reduce the file size, but will also make the resolution and quality significantly worse.
Also, the fact that most vlogs are recorded on consumer webcams, even if in HD, already outputs a compressed, keyframe-based, inflexible format from the get go! Also, YouTube will also automatically re-encode it for sure into this inflexible format (usually with at least a slight loss in quality from the original) no matter what.
so in a nutshell, i think "no" would be the answer for zip compression of videos to reduce file size. great question though!
