I wouldn't have minded, but I'm weird. I don't think he ever would have wiped my tears in that scenario. Normal people would probably think that's inappropriate.

In general I'm not a fan of comedic male crying.

Although this moment in Archer was a hilarious exception. It's a little less funny out of context but still.

So long story short, the team that I’ve been working with for 5 years suddenly got split up overnight and reassigned to different units and buildings. I worked through the pandemic with these people, and with no prior warning I wake up to an email saying that we’re all reassigned, and two people were laid off. Through my shock and befuddlement, and lack of sleep, I guess I thought it would be a good idea to get some donuts for everyone. There is a bus that takes us from our parking area to our workplace, and as I got onto the bus I saw four members of my former team sitting in the back, two women and two men. One of the women had wet eyes. And that’s when the emotion hit me. If I had just had a bit more warning, I could have arranged a little party or happy hour, with some cards and gifts for everyone, and maybe we could have dressed up a bit and taken a few dignified photos together. Instead I’m standing there in my wrinkled scrubs, masked, working off 3 hours of sleep, with a box of shitty donuts in my hands. Within 5 seconds I was crying, and by the time I walked over to them, four tears had dropped over my mask and onto the donut box. When I sat down next to them, the other woman also started crying, and her tears rolled behind her mask, but I could see two streaks coming from each eye. One of the guys sat next to me and gently rubbed my back, which was nice. My mask had shifted, so now my tears were rolling smoothly down my cheeks behind the mask. My voice was choked as I asked them questions and tried to piece together what had happened. Once I gasped sharply and sniffled, which caused the guy to squeeze my shoulder tightly for a moment.

After we got off the shuttle, we stood outside the building for a moment and lowered our masks. The woman who was crying before I got on the bus had dry cheeks, but her eyelashes were stuck together and wet. The one who had started crying after I got on, had two damp streaks on each cheek, which she wiped with her h

These days the rarer the obs, the more I prefer it. I've only seen a guy comforting a guy once in my life, so that's what I crave the most. The most common obs for me are women comforting women and men comforting women. I enjoy these too, but they're not as exciting to me anymore.

Would you say your wife lip curls more easily now that she's aware of it?

Not really, she's just less likely to hide it or suppress it when we're alone.

1. My wife and I were sitting at my desk on a video call with a friend. We were sitting in office chairs, facing the webcam. She was getting irritated with something our friend was saying, and she started tearing up while vigorously shaking her head and trying to interrupt. The moment she stopped shaking her head, tears started falling and she immediately, repeatedly wiped under her eyes. She kept wiping under her eyes while talking in a choked voice, lips quivering, sniffling. Because we were sitting in separate chairs it was hard to get my arms around her, and she was mad anyway and didn’t seem too receptive to hugs at the time. This lasted for about two minutes. Once we ended the call, she got up from the desk and immediately walked over to the bed and lay down on her left side, and burst into sobs while covering her eyes with her right hand. She sobbed loudly for about a minute with a lip curl, intermittently rubbing her eyes with her right hand. I stroked her hair a little, then, rubbed her arm, then her back, but otherwise gave her space. She then got up to remove her contacts because they had started to hurt her eyes, then she left to go to the gym to get some of the frustration out of her system. Her eyes were still kind of wet and teary when she left.

2. This obs follows kind of the same pattern as the previous one. This time we were sitting together on the couch, with a laptop in front of us, talking with the same friend as before on video call. My wife started to tear up a little more gently this time while I was talking. I was actually facing the webcam talking, and out of the corner of my eye I saw her turn toward me, and I saw her gently swallow and her face started to betray some pre-cry quivers. I turned toward her to see a fat tear rolling down each cheek, and her face widened into a big grin as our friend said something. She then sniffled, and another pair of tears fell from the inner corners of her eyes. She took off her glasses and wiped he

A male friend and his sister had come to our home a few weeks ago. Long story short, he had come to the US for university and had recently finished his degree program, and was planning to leave the country in the next few days. My wife and I had sat and talked with them for almost two hours without any signs of emotion. After that, I had taken the kids upstairs to get them ready for bed. Literally 10 minutes after I had left the room, my wife texted me to tell me that my friend’s sister had started crying and I should come back. I got the kids into bed, and I stepped out of the bedroom to meet my wife who was climbing up the stairs toward me. She was dabbing tears from her cheeks as she was coming up, explained to me what was happening, and told me she’d take over for me. I then went back downstairs.

Initially I was looking forward to comforting my friend’s sister. However, when I walked into the room, I was utterly shocked to find that HE had started crying. He was rubbing his eyes vigorously, and had this incredibly wide bloated lip curl with a spit bubble that visibly popped as he let out a couple of quiet sobs. I was kind of frozen for a second. It was a weird choice I had to make. I wasn’t confident enough to sit between them. Do I go to him, or to her? In a split second decision, I decided to sit next to him and quickly put my left arm around him. His neck and shoulders were so tense. I rubbed his back, gripped and gently squeezed his right forearm, hoping that he’d bring his hands away from his eyes. And then, as soon has he lowered his hands, I hugged him. As soon as I pressed my cheek to his, he immediately tensed, stood up and started walking away from us. I thought he was going to the restroom, but he stopped, then turned back toward me, and started pacing around the room, sniffling hard. His sister stopped him and guided him back to the sofa. This time I sat away from him, while she stroked his hair and his back. She had tears [i]pour
