Michael Crawford after a performance

In this video from 2012, the London cast of The Wizard of Oz is celebrating the 70th birthday of Michael Crawford (who played the Wizard) onstage.  When he speaks, Michael sounds choked up and says something about having tears running down his face.  I'm a huge fan of his and found it very endearing that he was so touched by the cast's nice gesture, and that he would admit to crying when so many men would try to hide it:

Re: Michael Crawford after a performance

From what I've seen over the years, he cries easily. (Which of course endeared him to me long ago.)

I swear if you listen to his version of "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserables, you can hear his voice breaking toward the end.

Re: Michael Crawford after a performance

You're correct about Michael crying easily in real life.  Even better, he never seems ashamed of being an emotional man.

I haven't heard the "Bring Him Home" yet, but there is another song, "Please Wake Up" from Once Upon a Forest, that he said he was barely able to finish without breaking down.
