Joseph Fiennes as Martin Luther in the 2003 movie. There are no actual crying scenes in Luther; however, I think you can almost see tears (or is it perspiration?) on J. Fiennes face at a couple of points between 4:50 and 6:00. (And even if there are no tears, the whole scene contains a great deal of vulnerability. I love how he grasps the older man's hand, for example.) Then he seems to get choked up between 42:13 and 43:16. See for yourselves:
