Re: Trembling

I could probably find a couple of fics I've particularly enjoyed recently, but they're all very fandom-specific - depending on which fandom I'm into at any one time, I will be devouring any h/c about certain characters at quite a rate, so remembering the best of them from all the fandoms I've gotten involved in (Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sherlock, Silent Witness) could be tricky! Also, I know people here are very different with what they like; some don't mind who is doing the crying as long as there are tears in there somewhere, and some people (like me) have to know the characters to be interested, and even then some characters will be utterly uninteresting as criers. So I don't know how much appeal my personal favourite fics would have.

Re: Trembling

Go ahead and post them anyway! (Personally, I don't need to know the characters to enjoy the crying. In fact, sometimes it's better if I don't, because it bugs me when fanfic authors take huge liberties and totally change characters from how they originally were written.)
If people don't like them, they don't have to read them. And it might make one person's day!

Re: Trembling

Okay, will try to dig some out! I have exams coming up at the moment so it might not be too soon, but I'll try to remember once they're done

Re: Trembling

Trembling is a definite part of "it" for me, particularly trembling of the hands, shoulders, or voice.

In the 1980's BBC series of Sherlock Holmes (with Jeremy Brett as Holmes) there's a story called "The Speckled Band," in which at one point you see Holmes' hand trembling with fear (he and Watson are waiting for the murderer's arrival so they can trap him).  I believe it's the only time in the whole series when Holmes actually appears frightened.

Re: Trembling

Not a crying scene, but here's Joseph Fiennes (I'm currently rather obsessed with him!) as a nerve-wracked, vulnerable Martin Luther in Luther.  In this opening sequence, he trembles so hard from anxiety that he spills the Communion cup (there's some audible trembling of the voice as well).  Go to 3:05 and watch until the end of the scene:
