Re: Grey's Anatomy

Missy, not trying to be rude or anything but I think I've found the episode in which he's crying on the couch. It's towards the end of S5 E12 Losing Battles around 37 min.  I just watched this episode and came across this topic and thought I'd help you

Re: Grey's Anatomy

You're welcome Missy

It's a really good scene btw. A bit short, but still really good.

Edit- I think I also found the other scene you described, Missy.  It's S4 E7 Did you hear what happened to Charlotte King.

Phoebe - he DOES cry and break down in TWO eps of Private Practice! I will find you the one that I recently saw, where Charlotte held him on the couch as he cried, but the other one was when Charlotte was raped and he finally saw her and cried into her side/stomach in the hospital. I'll try to find both this week for you.

OMG I don't know how I missed your reply.

I think he had a sweet 'I feel so betrayed' face late in season 2 of Prison Break, right after one of his partners betrays him. I don't think there were actual tears but there might have been. It's been a long time, and I was more into Wentworth Miller (and those gorgeous tattoos), Dominic Purcell (and his unbuttoned shirts), and William Fichtner and his generally tortured sexy self.

Back in the day my sister and I watched a bit of Private Practice mainly for Paul Adelstein. Fun times. Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce was also cute, and involved his cute butt at some point late in the first (?) season.

Re: Grey's Anatomy

Thanks to you all lovely people I was able to find and acquire these clips for us!

Grey's Anatomy: Alex cries as he kisses Izzie and begs her to stay in 4x17. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FBq2fRnL_GfXPYJ77Xa9OWDR7XGaIKHD/view?usp=sharing
And I mean like, a tear runs down his cheek right at the same time as their faces touch.

Grey's Anatomy: Deluca high and crying on the floor over losing his girlfriend https://youtu.be/pVjrZ4uqgNo?t=100

Grey's Anatomy: Deluca having a breakdown https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWtbgDXZ9x4. The way his voice breaks when he says "Bailey, stop this please!" just gets to me.

Grey's Anatomy: Deluca sitting on the floor against the counter after a nervous breakdown, not outright crying but looking lost and vulnerable: https://youtu.be/7nt5OJ4rnRA. Starts at about 3:45

Grey's Anatomy: Hunt has a lot of feelings about his missing sister's recent reappearance in 13x23 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LwCq_aTdUmtiG3fyQSLQ69zlFNz22ZVb/view?usp=sharing

Private Practice: 4x7 Cooper two different scenes. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1q22J0DmHBGnGpfDjnvKI-zbtRYxp5q4U/view?usp=sharing First he makes a silent crying face while sort of hugging Charlotte's legs, then the next scene he goes to see the crime scene where she was attacked, and breaks down sobbing. Violet comforts him.

Private Practice: 5x12 Cooper crying on the couch and being comforted by Charlotte https://drive.google.com/file/d/15FOT0X44GtODqpdFTc-2whiUgeL4RXnB/view?usp=sharing

Re: Grey's Anatomy

Another one of Deluca:

The team is having an intervention for him to acknowledge that he needs help with his Bipolar Disorder. Tears and sobbing with some comfort from his sister.  Super love this, short but has the cute squeaks and desperate tone that makes my stomach flutter!  And I can’t remember seeing this one posted here before.

Enjoy!

Re: Grey's Anatomy

Oh god yes the squeaks and the desperation/loss of control are just lovely.
I believe the fandom term for the stomach fluttery thing is 'whumperflies' (cuz butterflies in the stomach), and since the crossover of whump fans and crying fans is significant, the term seemed appropriate. I've seen whole threads on tumblr about it.

Re: Grey's Anatomy

It occurs to me that being a melodrama, both shows probably have more male crying worth noting, so I started looking into it and I found this recent thread about the men crying: https://www.reddit.com/r/greysanatomy/comments/t7lz76/a_lot_of_the_women_pull_off_strong/

A couple posts in, somebody says this about Alex: "Just realized that despite being the "tough guy" of the group, Alex probably has the most crying scenes out of any of the guys pictured. When Ava leaves, when he's talking to Meredith about how he doesn't want Izzie to die, when he says goodbye to Izzie before she goes into surgery, when Izzie codes, when Izzie leaves, when Izzie doesn't show up to her cancer treatments, when Meredith gets attacked by Lou. I never realized how many emotional scenes he had but he does a fine job with them all.Edit 2: Remembered another. Before he gets into the hospital bed with Izzie after giving Webber his sperm for the embryo he cries. He gets emotional talking to Meredith about it but doesn't actually cry until he's in the room with Izzie. That's 8 or so scenes that I could think of. He had a lot to work with."

If anyone can point me toward these scenes or other scenes in this series or Private Practice, please do! (Esp if it's from Jeffrey Dean Morgan/Denny!)
