Couple of obs from the last 6 weeks. My wife’s mother is staying with us for the next few weeks so we can take care of each other better during this crisis so she is going to be in my obs in the near future.
1. The evening of the day my mother in law arrived, she was sitting to my right on the couch while we were watching an emotional Netflix show and she cried a little, sniffling gently with a slight lip quiver. When tears started rolling down her cheeks she reached up and wiped the one from her left cheek with so much force that I felt it splash on my right ear and the right side of my neck. About 30 seconds later she shed more tears, and she reached up to wipe them again and I heard a “fwip” sound as her fingers swept across her cheek forcefully, this time splashing my right shoulder with her tears. Two nights later she was watching another episode of the same show and started crying again the same way; I was in the kitchen and I saw her wiping her tears again, and she pulled out the last tissue from the box sitting next to her. I went and got her a fresh box of tissues and as I handed it to her, I saw a few drops of tears on the couch next to her. She does this all the time. Flicks her tears off her face so forcefully that they fly almost two feet away from her.
2. I was putting the kids to bed while my wife and mother in law were in the other room. I heard my MIL start making a very fast “hahaha” sound from the other room. It really did sound like laughter, but her laughing and sobbing sound similar and the wall between the rooms made it even more difficult to tell the difference. She made the sound a few more times. About a minute later, I heard the musical, rhythmic, beautifully melancholic sound of my wife sobbing, and that was unmistakable so I realized that they were both actually crying. Tears jumped to my eyes immediately because I knew why they were upset and I went out to the living room where they were sitting. My MIL had her head down, sobbing silently and fast with her eyes closed, with tears dripping off her nose and chin. Her cryface is a bit unusual. The area around her forehead and eyes remain pretty relaxed, but she has a prominent lip curl that quivers with each sob. Most of the movement was in her belly while her shoulders and chest remained pretty neutral My wife was sitting to her left, hugging her mother, sobbing more slowly but with bigger breaths and more loudly. She makes a more classic cryface, with her whole face tightening up. This made her lip bulge and her chin wrinkle more than her mother’s. She sobbed with her whole upper body, so it looked much more intense. She had two wide tear streaks on each cheek, and a tear trail going down her neck and between her breasts. I tried to sit next to my wife but she opened her eyes, shook her head and motioned for me to sit on the other side of her MIL. I sat down and put my arm around my MIL and hugged her firmly. They talked a little bit and sobbed on and off for about 30 minutes. I didn’t say anything except making soothing sounds every time my MIL broke down. I got choked up a little and 3-4 tears ran down my cheeks during this time. After their crying had mostly stopped, I stood up and reached over and wiped all the tears from my wife’s left cheek with my right hand, and all the tears from my MIL’s right cheek with my left hand, then I wiped mine. As we got up, my MIL went into another room, and I saw my wife’s right cheek still had two shiny wet streaks, and I leaned over and kissed her cheek a few times until the streaks were gone. Totally turned on after that, but she wasn’t really in the mood so it didn’t go anywhere.
I’m getting other obs that aren’t fit for public posting for various reasons which is annoying. Some of the best crying happens during in-person socializing and I’m going crazy without it. Help.

Heheh, being a recluse, nothing's really changed for me much observation-wise. Although working from home means I'm missing potential workplace mini-obs'.
I like the idea of your MIL's cryface more. I like less expession on the eyes, I definitely prefer them open, alobg with the lip curl.

Wow, I was wondering if you had any lockdown obs, seems you have quite a few. I have never seen or heard about someone wiping tears so forcefully that the tears would splash on somebody else. Interesting your MIL has a few similarities with your wife's crying face.
Seems your MIL is comfortable crying in front of you, guess this is not the first time she does, I loved how you wiped your wife's and your MIL's tears at the same time, I have wiped tears from a couple of girls in the same day (not an everyday fact, actually it rarely happens, maybe once or twice in my life). Was this the first time you wiped your MIL's tears? how did she react when you did? I know your wife expects it by now. Also, I really loved the detail of kissing away your wife's tear streaks, too bad your wife didn't correspond to you getting turned on, I have done this to my wife and some of the times it leads to the best sexual moments we have had on our entire marriage. It seems to be becoming something usual for your wife to cry big tears, leaving wide streaks behind, is it due to the intensity of her crying, or what do you think determines if the tears are small and the streaks thin or the tears are big and the streaks thick?
Have a great week. XOXO (my daughter told me this meant hugs and kisses) for you and your wife.

Hello TorNorth, I expected more wife obs (I don't know if your wife's sister is with you as well) during this lockdown, also I kind of expected a self obs with your wife present, considering the lockdown and not much places to be alone.
Is there a tear drought in your household?

She was there when my wife proposed to me and I wiped her tears that day, and I've done it many times since. She's never been bothered by it.

I think it's determined by the position of her face and the intensity of the crying. It also has a lot to do with the cosmetics and skincare products that she has on at any given time.

Interesting relation, even though I have known my MIL for over 10 years now, I haven't wiped her tears, I don't feel neither confident nor compelled to do so.
I never thought the cosmetics would affect the size of tears, interesting. Also, I love when my wife's crying face is expressive.
Thank you for answering.

My wife's sister?? I never mentioned a sister. My wife has only a brother. She does have a cousin who's pretty much like a sister to her. She lives in another country though. According to my wife she's a lip curler, but I never got the opportunity to see it. One time I heard her sobbing over the phone with my wife when their grandmother passed. She's a pretty woman.
As for my house during lockdown, the self-obs I posted is the only moment that I'm aware of, unless you count the tantrums of my 9 month old.

Hehe, sorry, I think I confused your story with Tearhunter, his wife has a sister, anyways, interesting there has been no adult crying in your household during this quarantine.
