Started a Crying Girl Supercut YouTube Channel

Hi guys!

You probably don't know me because I haven't posted much and have been dormant for ages, but I have an exciting announcement: I've launched a YouTube crying supercut channel! The first video is for a favourite of mine: Brazilian actress Bruna Marquezine in the telenovela 'Em Familia.' I've done an enormous video that covers all 90(!) of her crying scenes from that show:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7Bm_NQeyXY

Please do subscribe if you want to see more in future!

Now the full story:

So obviously this took a while, but I'll explain where my head's at. Despite being dormant on this forum I've remained obsessed with crying scenes and tears. This obsession led to hoarding; I've been skimming countless TV shows (especially novelas) collecting and noting down all the crying I could find. Admittedly not a healthy habit but with all the craziness going on in the world this year it's been a comforting time-sink.

I realised I've been stumbling upon huge gold mines of material that haven't been spoken about on this site but also can't easily be shared (due to not often being available directly on YouTube)

So that's where the supercuts idea came from. My editing style might not be to everyone's taste but I personally enjoy the rapid cutting of different teardrops. (I've tried quite obsessively to capture and document every visible tear movement; as you can see in this google sheet which I hope will help anyone who wants to seek out the full scenes). The editing is also a necessity due to YouTube content ID; so by presenting fast moving supercuts rather than untouched scenes I'm hoping it counts as transformative. Some videos probably still will get flagged but I'll... deal with that when I need to.

So for now... enjoy! I have an enormous backlog of supercut edits to get through and it will take time; for my own sanity I won't let this take over my life. Feel free to suggest video ideas, I'm happy to consider them - my own list is vast (I won't share it just yet) and covers many things I've seen discussed on this forum, plus a lot of really obscure things. Who knows just how much I'll end up doing but for now I'm just really happy to have reached this point.

PS: sorry male crying fans. I'm just not into male crying enough to spend the ridiculous amount of hours to do male supercuts too.

Re: Started a Crying Girl Supercut YouTube Channel

Wow that's a lot of crying!

Exceptional job, I did get used to the editing style after a few minutes and there were many shots where the camera lingered long enough to catch one or two tears falling.

Security will run you down hard
And I will lead them on a merry chase

Re: Started a Crying Girl Supercut YouTube Channel

Thanks everyone! I'm glad you enjoyed it and it feels really rewarding to finally share this with others, my crazy archiving was definitely too much effort to keep it all to myself!

Definitely looking forward to doing more, I'm already at various stages on a few things. I can't be sure how long till the next vid but I worked out a lot with my process doing that first one so it should start to get faster and feel like less of a slog. Hope to get into a healthy rhythm without overdoing it.
Stay tuned!

Re: Started a Crying Girl Supercut YouTube Channel

Wow! This has to be the best video I've ever seen! So cool! I totally understand the copyright bit and why you've edited the video the way you have. I'm just curious about whether some of the scenes where there were tears in the eyes in one shot and tears on the cheeks in the next didn't actually show the tears leaving the eyes in the full episode.

If they did, my only request would be that in future videos, you leave in the bits where the tears leave the
eyes (and maybe if there are scenes showing tears filling the eyes, like the eyes going from dry to filled with tears, please try to include those too).

Like I said at the start, this is certainly the best video I've seen, so my above points are not a critique, but just a request. By the way, here's a list of my favourite crying actresses that I posted in a previous thread, would love to see you do supercuts of some of these (especially the Pakistani and Tagalog ones)

Looking forward to more amazing videos!

I realised that there are a lot of names on that list, so I'll just make a top 5 list:
1. Sajal Ali
2. Liza Soberano
3. Adelaide Kane
4. Angel Locsin
5. Ozge Yagiz

Regarding the shots where you don’t see the tears fall - I’m really trying to show all the falling tears I can, so if it looks like I skipped some it’s most likely because the show cut away to a reverse shot - super annoying! I do think I can try harder to show clips of the build up of tears in eyes.

Also thanks for the recommendations! I’m certainly aware of those 5 I will say that with Sajal might take the longest as I haven’t yet started tracking down her scenes. Not because I don’t want to but because it’s kind of intimidating when you know there will be a LOT, any advice on where to start?

Re: Started a Crying Girl Supercut YouTube Channel

Oh yes, Sajal Ali does have a nearly uncountable number of crying scenes, making Bruna Marquezine's 90 scenes look like just a handful in comparison. Maybe you could start with show's where she doesn't have as many scenes.

The ones with probably the least number of crying scenes are O Rungreza and Noor Ul Ain (I might be mistaken about the latter, but maybe not as I hardly remember any scenes from it). With O Rungreza, there might even be too few scenes that it might not be worth making a supercut out of it. There's another one that I don't remember very well, but might have some good crying scenes is Mera Yaar Miladay.

Yakeen Ka Safar has a good number of scenes, not too many that it's overwhelming, but enough to possibly make a supercut (and some of the crying scenes are quite beautiful too, though I guess all of hers are). Alif also has a decent amount of crying scenes without being overwhelming as far as I remember. You might want to start with one of these.

Ye Dil Mera, probably her most recent one, has quite a lot of crying scenes, but still a manageable number, I think, especially in the last 6 or 7 episodes. Gul E Rana also has a few, maybe not as many as Ye Dil Mera. I might add three shows that I couldn't find in HD on YouTube to this list, Chupke Se Bahar Ajaye, Khuda Dekh Raha Hai and Gohar E Nayab, all have some nice crying scenes that I'd love to see in HD.

Now for the really tearful ones, I'd put Aasmano Pe Likha and Chandni at the top of the list of her most tearful shows. Aasmano Pe Likha has multiple crying scenes in almost every episode, and Chandni has over 100 episodes that it can be intimidating, but I remember some of the episodes (some might be incorrect, especially the ones in the 60's and 80's, but most are right as far as I know) having the most memorable crying scenes - 1, 3, 7, 14, 40, 53, 56, 60, 62, 65, 82, 84, 85, 97, 98, 103. Now, that's just a small portion of the episodes that have crying scenes in Chandni, so I'm sure you'll find plenty more.

One show of hers that I haven't watched because it's not on YouTube is Aangan. I don't know how much she cries in that, but she definitely does, I've seen still images on Pinterest of her crying in that show, so since you seem good at hunting down scenes that are not on YouTube, you might even try to look into this one first if at all possible. Hope this breakdown helps. I haven't included her telefilms and movies that she's been in.

Re: Started a Crying Girl Supercut YouTube Channel

By the way, there's this service called Kapwing that lets you download specific parts of a video and cut out parts you don't want, so instead of downloading full episodes and then manually going through them to find the timestamps of the crying scenes and grabbing them, you can download all the crying scenes in one episode in one go by cutting out the non crying bits and leaving in only the crying parts. That could save you a lot of time (though it still takes time to process the downloads). Clipconverter.cc is also good and lets you download specific timestamps, but in that, you'd have to download one scene at a time and can't combine multiple scenes in one download. You probably know about these already, but if you didn't, now you do! And I don't know if these work with platforms other than YouTube, but they definitely work with YouTube, as long as the videos don't contain copyrighted music that is explicitly marked by the YouTube algorithm and the videos aren't country restricted.
