I'll keep a good thought for you both. Arguments are the worst!

Time: 20:00
Duration: 5 minutes
Reason for Crying: Wife and I were engaging in...activities in bed. We had just made some difficult decisions a few hours earlier, and she had made some selfless sacrifices for my sake. I felt really grateful, felt helpless in expressing it, and ended up crying in the middle of sex. Which is something I was hoping to see her do someday.
Location: home
Crying Intensity: tears down face.
Reaction to Tears: Let them fall unchecked.
Lip curled?: No. I was trying to look nice for her.
People Present: Just us.
Wife:
Date: 19 April 2014
Time: 22:00
Duration: 15 minutes
Reason for Crying: Movie. She was a bit hormonally emotional and wanted to cry, she had to go to a funeral the next morning and didn't want to make a scene there, and so I found a nice tearjerker to help her get it all out of her system.
Location: home
Crying Intensity: Quiet sobbing
Reaction to Tears: She had wrapped herself in a blanket and covered her chin with it, but her lips were visible. When the movie was over she took the blanket away from her face and turned to me to talk about it and continued to cry for two minutes afterward. At that point I wiped her tears one by one
Lip curled?: As soon as the first tear rolled down her cheek she looked at me with a sort of exaggerated playful pout. There was a serious scene during which she didn't smile or talk and just sobbed with her mouth open, eyes closed and a mild lip curl.
People Present: Just us.
I've noted that we're all crying far less than average, according to the statistics that tearhunter referenced in the first post. There's two women in my household, plus my sister was staying with us in the beginning of the year, and even combined we haven't reached 5 times a month, even including random 20-second tears-in-eyes moments.

Yeah, it's what I suspected! I've not tallyed up the stats yet - might do a 6 month review but I don't think people cry as often as the stats suggest. Or there are people out there that cry every day to bump up the figures.
Please keep recording all crying episodes (even the wet eyes) so we can build as accurate a picture as possible - thanks for all the posts so far.

To be honest I've neglected to put in several wife obs, mostly because I wasn't in the mood

I stopped putting up allot of my roadies because they seemed so repetitive.Dane description, same reason, every day or two days,I started to get a little uncomfortable with recording it.

@inmyarms That's fine. I don't think you should post if it makes you feel worse. I post my crying events simply because I like talking about it and there are people here who like to read about it. That's all.

Should have said only post if you feel comfortable with doing so. I realise that by it's very nature recording every single crying event can be difficult. Don't worry if you think the post are repeative - making them 'exciting' is not the goal of this project - if fact it's quite likely that multiple events will be triggered by the same base reason.
My current problem since I started this thread is my wife appears to have started a tear drought !

Long post. Sorry.

Reason for Crying: I teach gymnastics to 8-12 year olds on the weekends. One of the girls' mother chewed me out for basically no reason and I nearly got fired.

Crying Intensity: Tears down face
Reaction to Tears: Wiped them with my fingers, but it didn't help. I had my face in my left hand with my elbow on the arm of the seat, looking out the window. The tears were rolling between my fingers, under my wristwatch and down my arm.
Lip curled?: Maybe?
People Present: The train was full. A male college student was sitting next to me, asleep.

My wife spent a week at her brother's house during May to help him out. She told me that she cried on the 16th, 17th, and 18th of May while arguing with her brother, but I don't have any other details.
