Don't know if anyone has watched the series True Detective on HBO.  If not, you should, it is awesome.  Last episode of the first seaons both Woody Harrleson and Mathew McCaughnehey have crying scenes as they deal with what has happened.  Both come towards the ends of the episode.  Woody's character is showr and with his family.

Matt's is awesome.  He and Woody's character are talking outside of the hospital.  He's discussing an experience they just had (can't tell, spoilers).  He gets tearful initially, you can tell by the way his voice changes and he starts blinking quite a bit to control the tears.  As he keeps talking, he looses more and more control and evenually loses it completely dissolving into sobs.  Masterful really.  Two things about this scene make it incredibly sweet.  First of all, if you watch this show, these men are crude and manly men, drinking, swearing, ex cops.  So the loss of control is even more profound.  Also, the relationship between the two of them makes it sweet.  They have had a rocky one, but this scene really solidifies how much they have grown to value and trust each other.  It is sweet to watch Matt's character be so vulnerable with his good friend.  Also, Woody's character is sweet asking him to talk to him about how he is feeling, and recognizing how upset he is, quietly listening , squeezing his shoulder.  Totally shows the evolution of both characters.  Really  just a masterful scene.  Watch it if you can!.

"...men do not cry. They will do anything BUT cry. They stop themselves crying. And eventually they do cry if it is bad enough. So that's how you know with a man how bad it is for him. Because he would've stopped himself...Men always cry like that. They don't cry and in the end they do and if they do then it's overwhelming." ~Michael Caine

Finally watched Catching Fire. Jennifer Lawrence does a spectacular lip curl, TWICE! It was hot as hell. In fact, it's the only thing I liked about this crappy movie.

Yellowrose:  Hi, new here, just wanted to say I agree with you and LOVED McConaughey's True Detective scene (and all his work in the show).

Came across a scene with the gorgeous Sarah Lancashire yesterday in a movie called "The Cry". She did a mild lip curl while facing the floor (she can do better lip curls, I promise) and a tear ran down her nose. Then she hugged another character. Her eyes were baggy and red-rimmed. Looked pretty convincing.

The actress that plays Alex in Modern Family in the episode Under Pressure, at the end of the episode. Crying w/ hugging. And, of course, the classic scene in Goodwill Hunting, between Matt Damon and Robin Williams.

Tonight's episode of the Mentalist had two tearful Simon Baker scenes.  Didn't quite live up to all of the Red John related scenes of my fantasies, but they were really sweet scenes.  Love that show

Sexy lip curl on a sexy woman. Lots of and lots of tears flowing as well.

There is a Canadian medical drama called Remedy.  The Pilot, toward the end the main character Griffith (Dillon Casey) has a nice crying scene where he is comforted by his sister.   Sweet.  He also has a possible scene later in the series in the 3rd episode where he is talking with a patient
