Chris Pine in Horrible Bosses 2...

Actually a very funny scene, but Chris plays it seriously. He is trying to get his dad to pay a ransom for him, but instead, his father calls the cops. Chris' character is devastated, and he cries in a back room while the other three guys look on. I love the line where Jason Sudeikis says "Look how blue his eyes get when he cries." I laughed out loud when I heard that, because, as those of you who know me on here have read in my previous posts - I LOVE blue-eyed men when they cry! LOLOL!!! You can actually see tears streaming down Chris' face, and his high-pitched sobs are great, too. Awesome job, even if it is a funny scene.

The scene starts at 59:55.

This is very cute!

The tears are great and I like the way he totally commits to the crying scene, despite the fact that it's meant to be funny. (Also, his eyes do look really blue when he cries.)

Re: Chris Pine in Horrible Bosses 2...

I love how he plays it completely straight, hitting just the right place between really going for it yet not overplaying it. A lot of comedies, when there's crying, go overboard and the crying itself becomes uncomfortably comical. Here, the comedy came from the contrast between his devastation and the other characters clumsily falling all over themselves in their attempts to manage him.

Dude in Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates who is not Zac Efron, take note! You CAN do the ugly-cry and be funny at the same time, without taking it to absurdity!
