I tend to respond that way when I see men crying. I think it's because I'm 100% heterosexual so there's no possibility of attraction. When I see a man crying, I only feel sadness (or schadenfreude) as the case may be.

I have a buddy with PTSD from the army. I remember him telling me once about a letter he had got from the old Lieutenant, and he choked up and averted his face so I wouldn't see him cry. It only broke my heart.

I remember in elementary school reading a book, no idea about the title or author, but at several points the protagonist (a young boy) described his teenage sister crying. I remember wishing I could see it in person.

Also interesting about the articles, Ella. I sometimes Google things about crying to try and find blogs describing it.

Has anyone ever had their interest piqued by something that involved crying, but was either completely off the wall, or in no way whatsoever intended to titillate?

To give an example, I was a big video gamer when I was a teenager. I still am to some extent, but haven't got nearly enough time for it. One game I played when I was younger involved a side mission where the player had to rescue a population of fairies that had been kidnapped from the Fairy Queen. Said Fairy Queen was crying uncontrollably when she gave you this mission.

It was one of the most atypical cases of dacryphilia I'd experienced. Imagine a giant fairy rendered in blocky, 1990's graphics. She went through an endlessly looping animation, where she would bury her face in her hands and let out a few sobs, and her shapely bosom would heave up and down and her shoulders would twitch. As a teenager, when I discovered that part of the game, I remember using the game camera to zoom in on her breasts and I would sit and watch them bounce with sobs over and over again in an endless loop, and become very turned on Someone might have suspected that I was just a horny teenage boy looking for pixelated breasts, but it was really the shaking of her chest and her high-pitched sobs that got to me.

I would have loved to comfort that crying fairy. Has anyone else experienced a dacryphilia rush from a really unusual source?

Some favorites of mine that originated on the site.

This one comes off as a bit forced and silly, but I loved the ragged, uneven, choked way that she cries. She never gets a rhythm going, just awkward bursts of sobs and gasps.

Great sad face here, with a hint of that lip curl that some people love so much.

My personal favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWEdXR4h1Fo
Comes off as the most genuine, like she was really sobbing. I love those two little hiccups she lets out at the beginning. Such as sexy sound. And how I can see her belly shake with rolling heaves when she sobs. So hot.

Interesting to know. Every once in a while, I look up a few old favorites on YouTube when I need a nostalgic crying fix. Bit hard to search, though, because you need to know the name of the person crying in the video.

I might post a few favorites on here when I'm at home and not on mobile.

I discovered the site years ago, don't remember exactly how, but it contained nothing but videos of people crying while eating. I don't know if this was meant as a specific fetish, or some sort of art project or just a bizarre joke but there were dozens of videos of people crying and eating. Mostly real life, but a few movie and TV scenes. Some of them I found really hot.

The site is gone now, but some videos remain on Youtube. Anyone else recall this?

A good British-Irish ballad can work wonders when you need to help someone's tears begin flowing. Danny Boy, Barbara Allen, The Water is Wide, Wife of Usher's Well, etc,..

I can't relate to the "making yourself cry" thing.

I'm naturally not very easily reduced to tears and when I am, I've gotten good at fighting it. I don't think I'd ever be comfortable making myself cry intentionally. Obviously somehow related to my fetish

Honestly, I'm not into that either, but I'm curious as to what might have this effect on people and how they feel about it.

I enjoyed Tim Minchin. Humor is often about feeling bad about something and feeling glad about feeling bad.

P.S. Were you able to enjoy your wife crying?

How many have a special song that inevitably makes them misty, or maybe that they know will help someone else cry when the tears are coming but just won't spill?

In the former category, this tune always gives me a little gleam in the eye. Reminds me of my high school sweetheart (who was really sexy when she cried, of course). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PMqzN4mn4c

Also this lovely instrumental, which bears some significance in important local history for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_qIhrB73Uo

In the latter category, the elephant lullaby song, "Baby Mine," from Disney's "Dumbo," was this for a girl who I was in a relationship with back in college. It became our comfort song, when she needed to cry in my arms but she just couldn't get her tears out, I would take her into bed, hold her close against me and whisper-sing the song into her ear, and it would always leave her sobbing, hard and refreshing and beautiful.

What are your magic tear tunes?
