Me and Gemma were in London to see our family for a couple of weeks. Our first problem when we landed was the Piccadilly Line had a points failure which meant all routes out of Heathrow Terminal 5 were completely jammed.
'What do you suggest?' Gemma asked me on our Elizabeth Line train. I was very pleased to be consulted and tears ran down my cheeks. After wiping them away I consulted my Rail and Tube map, which I still had on my phone.
'If we get off at Hayes and Harlington, we can try to get a Great Western train' I suggested. 'We can then get the tube at Paddington to Baker Street and go straight to Rayners Lane'
Gemma agreed to this plan and after a protracted journey, we arrived to be met by Kate and Rachel. We all had a group hug as tears streamed down our faces.
After we wiped our tears we tapped out, Kate and Rachel took our bags and we went to their house.
Seeing Kate's two awards proudly on her mantelpiece was very surreal and Gemma hugged her niece tightly as tears ran down her cheeks.
It was time for our evening meal so we went to sit down
Security will run you down hard
And I will lead them on a merry chase
