This is an observation about my boyfriend that I tried to post about a month ago on that Yahoo group. Something went wrong, and it didn't post, but I still have it saved, so here it is!
This happened about a month ago, around when I tried to post it originally:
My boyfriend hasn't really cried in quite some time. Maybe tearing up a little here and there, but nothing you'd actually call crying. He used to cry quite a bit, but things have been going pretty well in general and he just hasn't done it.
Anyway, the stress has been building up about various things, and he says that he feels that he's going to need to have a good cry soon. It hasn't happened yet, but a couple of days ago, he was feeling kind of upset, and he wasn't quite sure why. He was also exhausted beyond the point of being able to sleep because he hadn't gotten a full night of sleep in a week. We were sitting on our bed, and I was in the middle of filling out some forms online and surfing the web a bit. He got up to do some things, and suddenly I realized he'd been gone for quite awhile. I walked into the living room, and he was lying on the couch with his eyes closed. I thought he was asleep, and I sat down beside him. He opened his eyes, and his lip was trembling a bit. He put his hands on my shoulders as if he was about to speak, but instead, his eyes filled with tears. Several tears spilled down his cheeks. He sat up and buried his face in my shoulder. I could tell he was trying to catch his breath and not sob because my mother was staying over (she was reading in the kitchen) and he was a little self-conscious. He took a couple of shaky breaths and wiped the tears off of his cheeks. I held him for about ten minutes until he fell into a nap. He felt much better and refreshed when he woke up.
That's all I have for now! He keeps telling me he needs a good hard cry, but he can't seem to get in the right mood.

Well, I know it was a month ago, but good luck getting the "good hard cry" that he has been teasing you with! Sorry your mother was in the next room, but at least you got several tears down the cheeks (which is definitely real crying).

Oh wow! That is really, really hot. Actually, one of my favorite things is when a man wants to cry to YOU, and only you, but someone else is there and he doesn't feel safe. That has happened to my boyfriend once or twice and I love it every time, because I get to take control and lead him somewhere more private. It really emphasizes how personal crying is.
I hope he gets to let it out soon! And be sure to tell us all about it!

Maybe he should try watching a movie.
