At the end of episode 4 he watches an evidence tape of his mother. Tears gather in his eyes and he lets them fall unchecked. He looks rather like a lost little boy.
At the end of the pilot episode his eyes fill with tears but don't fall.

I love the scene in the first one, there's a lot of vulnerability in his eyes !

So much vulnerability, and not a trace of self-consciousness.
I do love when men cry even as they try so hard not to, but there's an equal beauty to when it doesn't seem to register to them that they're crying, or when they cry and it's like it never even occurs to them that they supposedly 'shouldn't'. (I recall Vic Mackey on The Shield crying like this too, at least sometimes.)
