Did anyone else realize how everyone’s tears fall a different way?

I was thinking lately about the fact that i know different types of criers…as in, the way their tears act when they’re about to go down. For example, i have a friend from primary school whose tears literally always fall directly from her eyes without touching their face, or doing so minimally; i have never seen a single tear roll down her cheeks without falling down immediately. Once we met up after she had a bad fight with her ex and her chest was literally filled with six tear stains scattered around. And the one tear she shed in front of me that night literally flew down the middle of her cheek to the floor. Another girl from my primary cried the way that her tears would roll down her cheeks really fast, but they never touched her chest. Another girl’s tears literally always fell down from the middle of her cheeks etc. Mine are a combination of the 3 kinds i found to exist, they sometimes fall directly from my eyes, sometimes from the middle of my cheek and sometimes they just roll down my face.
What do you guys think determines this? Is it someone’s eye shape, the amount of tears they cry, maybe the type of their skin? Its really interesting how it varies from person to person and i can’t quite figure out why.

My original answer would have been the shape of the face, but you discarded my theory saying you are a combination of all three. My next best guess would be the position of your face when crying. I have noticed in two different girls, when they are leaning, even if just a little bit, the tears fall from the eye directly to whatever is below them, I have tears fall on chest, thighs (when sitting) table, or straight to the floor, and when they are leaning on me I feel them falling either on my shoulder or my neck.

Interestingly, one of the girls mentioned above, when she has her face straight, her tears roll down her cheeks all the way to her chin, sometimes falling from her chin and sometimes they continue to roll down her neck. So I would discard the skin type

And yes, it is really interesting, I also have been thinking why do tears sometimes roll fast down the cheeks and sometimes slow, even though on both cases it has been intense crying with a lot of tears.

Another thing is the size of tears. Some female crying I've noticed it's either small tears or bigger.

Jennifer Lawrence interestingly seems to have quite a variety, shedding both small and big tears in The Hunger Games Catching Fire. In the trailer for Joy curiously she sheds a tear without the streak or appears to.

Another notable thing is most actresses when they cry, they shed a single tear down their right cheek. Very rarely will it be the left or both. Saoirse Ronan being a fantastic exception in Brooklyn, the girl cries beautifully in four or five scenes with multiple tears falling down her cheeks from both eyes

I agree with everything cray said. I’d only add that the length and thickness of the lower eyelashes makes a difference in the size of tears. If there’s mascara or eyeliner mixed in, that might affect it too.

Re: Did anyone else realize how everyone’s tears fall a different way?

I was looking at some wedding pictures and video from a few years ago and remembered something else. The bride had “waterproof” airbrush makeup done by a decent makeup artist. I don’t know what was in that particular makeup concoction but it made her tears roll MUCH faster than usual without leaving much of a visible wet streak. The tears also dropped off her face more easily instead of hanging at her chin or rolling down her neck. It made her face look plasticky like a mannequin. The groom wasn’t wearing makeup, and I was wearing traditional waterproof makeup, and our tears rolled more naturally and looked less weird in the video.

So no tear streaks were on your sister's cheeks?
Did the groom allow his tears fall unchecked?
Did they wipe each other's tears?
