John Cusack in 1408. The evil hotel room is fucking with him by giving him visions of his dead daughter.

Like many here, I watched USA's Psych and started very much wanting to see smartass Shawn Spencer cry. While James Roday Rodriguez seems to have waited til A Million Little Things to fully break down, he did get very close to crying as Shawn in the Psych series finale. He got rather teary and started losing control of his voice as he records a goodbye video to Gus his best friend in the entire world since ever.

Hugh Jackman, Reminiscence. The man can ugly-cry, that's for sure. He doesn't seem to cry often, but when he does, it's not a few gentle tears. This scene reminded me of his scene in The Fountain.

Tom Holland in Cherry. You guys were right--he's a damn fine crier.
1) he completely breaks down from likely-PTSD after calling his girlfriend
2) he's frantic and panicked and sobbing as his girlfriend is admitted to the hospital

The mastermind in La Casa de Papel, twice.
He talks about seeing his father die
He speaks with the woman he loves
Robert Longstreet, Midnight Mass. He's older and craggy and too old for me but damn if he isn't a wrenching crier. This is the trailer scene, not the picnic scene.
Zach Gilford, Midnight Mass, two scenes.
His friend Erin (Kate Siegel) talks about a recent unexpected loss, and they both tear up.
Boat scene (those who've seen know what I'm talking about). You may wish to stop the video around 2:10 to avoid something upsetting. Note: title of the video is a major spoiler. You've been warned.
Dev Patel, Lion. His eyes slowly fill with tears until they finally spill over, camera focused on his face. There was a shot of this was in the trailer. It is so beautiful--as beautiful as Jensen Ackles' Single Perfect Tears on Supernatural, and Jensen is usually held up as the gold standard of Guys Pretty-Crying.

Adrien Brody in Backtrack, talking to his therapist about his dead daughter
Jake Gyllenhaal, Enemy. This is a weird movie and I forget why exactly he's crying, but his life has gotten weird and there's a doppelganger of him stressing him out

The one with Adrian Brody seems very promising but why is it so short ? Is it a follow-through after the last scene ?

He's amazing in this one. There many more scenes of him crying in this one or at least tearing up in the beginning of the film. The one with the break-down is the coolest of all in my opinion. We know from the very first cracks in his voice that he's going to break down but then he manages to hold his tears for another aprox. 2 minutes and then he's totally overcome with emotion.

Zach Gilford has some nice crying scenes in the episode The Son from Friday Night Lights in the 4th season. In one of them he starts sobbing at the dinner table and there are close ups of his sobbing face.
( the sobbing scene is at 35:16, he also tears up at 28:09)

Thank you psychic_girl! He's just so damn pretty, and I hoped he'd done more scenes. Here is that one.
I was looking up his character and I found this list. In point 8, the picture sure looks like he's crying. Any idea what episode this happens?
