Re: Kevin Costner sobbing scene

I just checked the link, and it seems that 137'55 IS the end of the movie.

Re: Kevin Costner sobbing scene

Oh i'm sorry, i made a mistake since i looked the other way..instead, It's 124'22 were the scene starts..
After this scene there's the ending where he chokes up a bit as well..

I'll rectify the post right away..

Re: Kevin Costner sobbing scene

Thank you for this, psychic_girl!

It was short but I like it, although I wish he didn't put his hands on his face while he sobbed..

Re: Kevin Costner sobbing scene

I can't belive that I haven't seen this scene before! I am such a sucker for Kevin Costner, and have been since I was like 12 years old! What a lovely scene, even better than the one in "Mr. Brooks". Thank you, this made my day!

Re: Kevin Costner sobbing scene

You're welcome Suckerformanlytears, i was amazed too when i saw it..It was 2 years ago but then i managed to see this movie again and i recalled the scene. I didn't know Costner to be a crier before this and i was disappointed by the movie Message in a bottle where i expected more crying.

When i saw it i also had a strange premonition, a feel that he will lose it at one point. He seemed very down throught all the movie didn't he?

Soon i'll post Dragonfly scene, he cries in that too.

Re: Kevin Costner sobbing scene

This one has been a real surprise. I think It's one of the best crying scenes I've seen so far in movies. Ican't believe Costner can cry like this. In the scene his character tells his son how his friend died in the war. The scene is cathartic as Coster starts sobbing. Even at the distance you can see the tears pouring from his eyes, his nose is  stuffy at the beggining of this scene.

Re: Kevin Costner sobbing scene

He also starts crying more subtly at 0:36 and his girlfriend comforts him.

Oh that's rather lovely. I like the lead-in with the shaking shoulders from silently crying, and how he manages to gather himself a bit before a new wave of grief hits and makes him cry all over again.

I'm glad that you liked the scene and thank you for the link. I have  tried to research this part quite a lot in the past. What do you think about the part with him as the dad of Elijah Wood ? I'll try to finda cleaer version for that one. His tears are quite visible nonetheless but it's sad they filmed it at a distance and you can't see much detail..
