female obs

I was leaving rehearsal for a play I'm in tonight. I was escorting a very very beloved friend of mine with whom I have been performing for years, to the car giving us a ride. She is legally blind and all the ice in the dark can be treacherous. This current production we are in e are both finding to be run fat less efficiently than the usual odd we do but since it's for charity we're plugging along.

As we were standing by the curb my friend started to tell me that she's not really enjoying thus production and she wishes she could quit. She was blinking furiand she'sously and get voice started to shake. She told me she felt like a fifth wheel because being blind, she is getting put in the back of every scene like a prop ( in other plays we have done they have been excellent in accommodating her and showing her to be included in scenes with the rest if the ensemble and she has always been treated with dignity) she wad fighting back the tears.I out my arm around her and she leaned get head on my shoulder for a second and took a couple of shaky breaths. I didn't geta good look at the tears because it was dark but she wwiped at her eyes and says she didn't want to director to know how upset she was because it is her first production and she gets that no one means anything against her and she hates that she's getting upset. I had my arm around her for about two minutes while she dives very softly and then the car arrived.she quickly composed herself but as she lifted her head I could see the remnants of tears still on the side if her nose.

That's a very touching story. Wow I've never heard of a blind actor before. Do you guys do crying exercises for your plays?

Ugly crying is pretty crying

Re: female obs

No.we never did crying exercises before. We hadn't really done any plays that would require it.we do mostly musicals. The last one we did was Marry poppins which was the most fun I have ever had.before that was my fair lady, the sound if musicand the Rothschilds. The one we're doing now is :/ a different thereafter with a different director but allot of the same people as our usual company.this friend of mine is amazing.sure is married with two children, she is a special education teacher and she teaches voice on the side. We both do theater as a hobby.she is usually in ensemble and I usually do a small supporting role. She I'd one of the warmest most accomplished people I know.I have been her friend for seven years or so.I have never seen her cry before.
