Working in medicine has actually not provided me with much in the way of observations. I didn't actually see this, but the story was really sweet so I thought I would share.
Had a tough case in our ICU where a young person ended up passing after a long day of working to save his life. Apparently, one of the young male physicians who had been helping to take care of him just sad down and cried after the code was called. I thought it was sweet to see that he cared so much. Usually, physicians, especially male, have found a way to remain detached so that doesn't happen. I would have loved to have been there. Cute

I can understand the need to detach. Working on an icu I imagine they would become familiar with death and I don't see how they could function of they let out get to them
