Fetish fading away

So this is weird. Lately I've been less and less excited when I see someone cry, either in real life or in a video or photograph. My main interest had always been watching tears slowly roll down a woman's cheek. At first I was just losing interest in my wife's tears; I thought it was just because she cries quite regularly and maybe I was just getting too used to seeing it. However, it's really happening with everyone I see now. I saw a really pretty woman cry a few days ago, and I didn't even feel the urge to continue looking at her.

Can fetishes disappear? I think it's happening to me. I don't know how to feel about this.

Re: Fetish fading away

It can definitely wax and wane for sure - for me when I was mega busy I found I had less time for it but during my illness I found it came back stronger - perhaps because I was experiencing more personal crying - but I'm not sure I really know why it came back stronger to be honest.

It could be that because you have seen a lot of tears from your wife recently that you are becoming a bit 'desensitised' to them - sometimes the thrill is to chase and hunt down the tears and if you get them too easy the thrill is not there.

I can understand why you would be confused especially if its been a part of you for a long time.

You might treat it as a good thing since it could have gotten rid of an unnecessary complication in life...unless you really miss those feelings, of course.

Mine comes and goes as well. Don't sweat it.

Sometimes mine does. It will fade away sometimes, and be strong sometimes. I'd say mine was much more powerful as a little kid.

Re: Fetish fading away

Yeah, sometimes I just don't think about for awhile, or other things seem to be holding my interest more. I understand how that can be a strange feeling. I agree with tearhunter that at least for me, part of it is the fact that observations are so rare -- it makes it more thrilling when it finally happens.
