Now, that looks realistic! There's something just that much more appealing about an "ugly cry" - it feels more honest to me.

Wow, this is one of the greatest scenes i have seen in ages..this messy, drunkish, uncontrollable crying..This is beautifully played, if really played..it looks so realistic it doesn't even matter anymore. I love also the look on Jeremy Iron's face, it's like he's almost on the verge of crying from being overwhelmed as well but containg it. One question though, why does he cry for in the movie, i didn't see it..but i saw they're many more parts from this one with him, does he cry in them too?

Anthony Andrews' character, Sebastian, has become a serious alcoholic and has a poor relationship with his mother. He has become paranoid and suspects his best friend (Jeremy Irons) of spying on him for her. Previous to his breakdown, he arrived drunk at his very proper family's after-dinner gathering and was ignored by them. The preceding scene can be seen here, starts about 4 minutes in:
There is another brief drunken crying scene here (takes place before the big breakdown), starts about 6:50:
. The whole series is amazing, one of the best things ever made for TV and I highly recommend it.
