A Small obs

Right now me and the wife are sharing a house with another family who has three kids. Two nights ago their two year old got into an accident. Me and my wife heard a thud at around 4 am, and then we heard the youngest crying loudly. We correctly assumed that he must have fallen off the bed and hurt himself. We heard the parents rushing about, but after a few minutes the crying stopped so we assumed it wasn't serious. Then we heard the mother talking to her husband and she was clearly crying. The mother came to our bedroom door and called my wife. My wife opened the door and I heard the woman say that the kid had cracked his head. Then I heard her sobbing (kind of a hiccuping sound) for a few seconds. When I came out of the room she had stopped crying, but there were tears in her eyes. She told us to watch the other kids while they took the two year old to the hospital.

The kid was ok though. Turns out he rolled out of the bed and hit his head on a block of lego which gave him a nasty cut instead of a cracked skull.

Poor kid, poor family! Nothing like a little crisis in the middle of the night to shake up a person!

Poor kid! Glad he's okay. That can be nervewracking.

And I just heard the mother briefly crying again about an hour ago because these kids are driving her mad.

Re: A Small obs

Glad he's ok - those bit of Lego can be painful - ever stepped on one - Ouch !!

Hearing her cry is going to get very frustrating without getting to see her cry. In my case I'd be dying to see some tears - in your case I'm sure your wondering what that bottom lip is doing

Sounds like she is on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster so more obs might be a possibility

It is frustrating. On hindsight I'm really annoyed at myself for not going to the door fast enough to see her sobbing. She has a strange habit where her bottom lip curls when she talks. Don't know if this is automatic or not but I wonder what it might indicate.
