In the episode "Even Stones Have Eyes" from the 1960's TV series Route 66, Buz (George Maharis) temporarily loses his vision; when he gets it back he weeps with relief and joy.  The full episode is not on Youtube -- but if you right-click the link and scroll way down, you can at least see images of the dark and handsome George Maharis in the episode's big crying scene:
