I really like Sam Worthington, so I am looking forward to this movie, since I never saw him cry in other movies

Wow, if half of the near tears scenes from the trailer end in crying scenes, I am going to need to see that movie!

So how was it?

I watched the whole thing today. There are several moments in the film where he cries, but imo the first one is the best one. Happens at 25:25. You can't see his face because it's buried in his wife's shoulder as she holds him. Very nice pitiful sighing sobs, if you know what I mean. It's hard to describe, but I wish we had more clips of men crying like this.
There are also tears at:
27:35 (brief and offscreen)
40:30
47:00
Octavia Spencer cries a little at 55:00ish
and he cries again, less briefly this time, at 1:49:10

Crying on his wife's shoulder. This is my favorite out of all the clips.
Sound only as he sees a crumpled dress--all that's left of his daughter.
Stricken with grief, along where his daughter died, considering suicide.
Pretty close-up shot of a single tear from his eye, with a woman wiping it and putting it into a lachrimatory. (the Holy Spirit is a dac and keeps a lachrimatory--who knew?)
Trying not to sob as he prepares to bury his daughter.

Good Job, Phoebe ! I appreciate your effort for showing us those scenes. I like the last 2 the most, it was a nice surprise to see that he shows his crying skills though a bit left handed, so to say..

I recently read the book, it was a very interesting story. These scenes fit so well!

I don't know if it is my computer screen, but I didn't see the tear on the close-up, I saw the young woman wipe his eye and then taking her finger to the vial, nice scene though.

There was definitely a tear.
