Kate's POV
As we moved into February, I had my first audition for the Westfield theatre company. I had auditioned for the role of Janet the nosy Cockney neighbour in Murder for the Asking.
While I was waiting Jenna who had completed her second (and sadly last) season playing Nancy Drew came over for a coffee. Her second stint had not been as enjoyable as the first as her and her Co stars had fallen out over money.
'Netflix had this policy, that no one could be paid more than the lead actress ' she explained, tears streaming down her face. 'Because the guys couldn't do a second season of their show, I was worried mine would get cancelled too.'
She wiped her tears and carried on.
'So I only raised my salary to $65,000 an episode. However the others wanted more money, but they couldn't have it because of the rule Netflix created after the controversy on The Crown'
Another pair of tears streamed down her face.
'Plus they resented how hard I was working, they were expecting to just phone it in I guess'
She wiped the second round of tears away and dabbed her eyes.
'Anyway, I'm going to just accept work from the UK for a bit. Give me a chance to work with actors who aren't going to hate my guts'
'Good for you' I replied gently. Jenna's eyes filled with tears again, but they didn't stream down her face. We drank our coffee and I filled her in on my news
