Hey all! Since I know we are all big fans of tears I wanted to know where you recommend finding videos? I’m looking for women only really. I know bilibili can be good but idk what keywords to use. Where do you guys find videos?

Hey Tearful fanatic, YouTube is a source you can rely on, you just have to look at the right places, shows like singing contests or cooking always have tears, Big Brother and like also often have tears, if you know an artist is struggling, more than one interview will have her in tears, sports also have emotional moments. Hope it helps.

Soft White Underbelly channel on Youtube has interesting stories and accounts of women having had a hard life or traumas. There are many tears shed as well and the guy who films them does it as a professional photographer, capturing their emotions very vividly.

Instagram is very good. Do some general searches and the algorith will clue in.

Instagram is develish...

I have installed the Instagram app on my phone yesterday the first time in years.  New phone, no search history

I just started scrolling, without searching for something special.

First there were some general things about different topics:  Politics, cars, games, memes, challenges, robot stuff, crazy ai videos

After 10 or 20 minutes the algorithm -for some reason- started showing single women

then single women with big beautiful eyes, then eyes that look sad & tearing up...

I continued scrolling and it was like the application could read my mind.  After further 5 or 10 minutes it started showing me some well known cry videos, then some (AI-generated) east European & Asiatic women shedding unrealistic amount of tears!  (very very similar to some recent videoposts in the tlc cry share group)

This really creeped me out since I used a complete new phone and I just scrolled and didn't search for anything!

My activity on discord also should't be linked to my phone.  I always for 100% log in with PC and use VPN, without using my home connection also it's like I visit the group one time a week for a few minutes, with no further activity.

Is this just the algorithm?  Did someone else make similar experience?  Or is this something else?

Of course I'm aware it depends on how fast or how I scroll some content.  It also works with something different, like topics about games, eating, music or programming, depending on what I want to watch.  I just was a little surprised about how fast an algorithm can show this very specific content (within minutes) like an extreme coincidence from the scratch on a brand new phone without saying one single word and without using any search tags.

It's pretty mad. I think the algorith pushes for what you like, watch and favourite, as opposed to what's viral.

Chinese apps like bilibili and rednote are like this too.

I think Instagram especially learns your preferences very fast, you watch one or two videos on a topic, it just floods you with similar content.
