Hey, I realize this is a late reply, but I'm really sorry . Breakups suck. I hope things are going okay!

You should all go see the movie Little White Lies. It's a French movie, and has easily my favorite male crying scene to date. And there's other male crying as well.  And there's a lot of female crying too, from all three main actresses but most noticeable from Marion Cotillard.

Yay! Okay, the only problem is, I think a lot of it depends on the production. Like in the production of Les Mis I saw I'm pretty sure Marius cried a couple of times (I saw it ages and ages ago, so I don't really remember). And sometimes they fake sobbing but don't have actual tears on their face. But I can try to make a resource based on the shows I've seen and scripts I've read at least, and then hopefully at least most of them will keep the crying in any production.

Up close you really do get to see. My favorite theater obs is still Andrew Garfield in Death of a Salesman, which I think I posted here. There was another fun one, though, where I was seeing a play and basically, there were a few really intense scenes where more or less all the characters (most of them women) cried. Then at one point, a heated and tearful exchange was going on between two of them, and I looked over at one of the two guys who didn't have any lines but was standing with them, and from where I was sitting, it was clear (to me at least, as an obsesser of such things haha) that he was fighting tears. I thought that was really cool, like he got so into it he had to try hard not to cry. It was an actor I liked from other things, too.

But yeah, you should definitely go. Almost all the shows I see (and I mean, I love theater anyway) have some crying in them. Especially, unfortunately, the non-musical dramas. And Toronto does have great theater. :D We should make a resource on the site of shows with some form of crying written into the script.

Yes, I love that too! It's really cool to know all of you actually exist, though that sounds strange haha.

Of course, I'll definitely share! It sounds like it's usually another actor's job when NPH is unavailable (still cool, though not AS cool). I'm probably going to go for my birthday, which means that my friends will sort of shove me forward (I hope) if they need a volunteer. I'm really excited for this now . I know other favorite actory people of mine often go, though sometimes as audience members!

I've always planned to go to Sleep No More (I do in fact live in NYC, and my friends and I have meant to go for over a year because cool people often go), but I didn't know this happened! Haha now I DEFINITELY have to go.

WAIT, Josh Charles is my favorite actor (from Sports Night, mostly), and I've spent ages wanting a scene from him but I'd never seen him in In Treatment. Thank you SO MUCH for posting this.

Today I was talking with one of my friends, and she said that, though she understands that even guys need to cry during a really serious situation like a death or something, otherwise it pisses her off and makes her want to hit them.

I proudly disagreed and said I thought it was adorable/hot, etc. but it got me thinking.

I think it would be an interesting/"fun" situation to be with another person and the cryer, where the other person makes some sort of comment or acts uncomfortable towards the guy crying and I get to be the sort of "solace" who is completely unjudging and comforting. It'd be nice to actually defend them, I think. I guess it would work better in fiction, because in real life I like to think few people (besides my friend haha) are mean or whatever enough to openly disapprove of a person's crying, but still.

What are others' thoughts?

I haven't seen the show, but i saw trailers for it and actually the first thing I wondered, haha, is if there were any good crying scenes! You did an awesome job with this.

I may write fanfiction at some point... writing regular fiction for it doesn't appeal to me as much, unless it were on characters in my larger projects, because for me so much of the enjoyment is the connection to the person's personality, so yeah.

Fantastic story!

Oh my God, he cried on stage in Death of a Salesman and it was incredible. He's a great crier, haha.
