Oh, I liked that scene a lot too! ^ That's also one of my favorite shows.
Okay, I just started watching Buffy, and there are lots of lovely crying scenes :D. It's awesome.
Crying Discussion » Hi, been lurking for a while! Some facts about my thing for crying... » April 19, 2012 10:38 pm |
It's funny - I've known about the sneeze fetish AS A FETISH way longer than the crying, but that's because it was always weirder to me, whereas the crying thing always felt very natural and like something I could talk about (not using the word 'fetish', though). Like I've told friends who have all been like "oh yeah it's so adorable, right?" and when my friends at one point were discussing fetishes they had, I debated very seriously over sharing this one, though I would never share the sneezing one.
I didn't though, because it was all guys except for one girl, and I was very concerned that if I told them, they'd never come to me with their problems.
Interesting point, though: recently I had a conversation with the other girl who was there (who was a lot of fetishes which are, in my opinion, stranger than either of mine - and one of the guys said they were creepy) and we watched a movie where a guy was crying. And she was like "Oh my God, don't you just want to hit him?" And of course I reacted strongly, saying I thought it was adorable, and why would I hit him? And she said that she ALSO thought it was adorable and that was why she wanted to hit him, so he'd cry more. Which is, if you ask me, a different take on the fetish, one that makes me think we're all quite lovely people, since the comforting thing IS a big part of it for all of us.

Well, I know my friends and I (all girls) were bawling rather hysterically. As far as I could tell, all but a handful of people in the theater were (and it was packed). We actually got annoyed though, because there were girls who were sobbing LOUDLY through the last hour, and we were sniffling/quiet and so we (more my friends than I, I guess) felt like they could at least be respectful of the other people in the theater.

Oh, I love mass-crying (good term for it!) too. That's what happened when I saw Titanic.
I have to say, when I went to see Hunger Games, I was the only one who didn't cry (I love the books but not the movie, long story). It's quite funny/frustrating, though, because I saw it with four boys and a girl, and ALL of the boys claimed they cried and I noticed/heard... nothing. I was rather pissed but also just pleased that it had happened while they were near me, and also how insistent they were about it afterwards ("If *I* cried so much over it, why didn't you cry?!")

It's funny, because this fetish in comparison with my other fetish has always felt more natural to me. I've always been perfectly comfortable just finding material in TV or books - sometimes I seek out clips I know of, to watch again and again, but I don't usually like watching clips where I'm unfamiliar with the characters and seeing vlog clips, for instance, with people crying leaves me feeling all squicky and uncomfortable about crying for a few days (not like the fetish makes me uncomfortable, like seeing them cry does). I'm not sure why this is.
I think it's because a large part of seeing a person cry (and this part's also true with my other fetish) is seeing how it relates to their personality and who they are, and I just don't get that from vlogs or anything like that.

HAHA, I find it pretty hilarious too. Plus now I know who Bruce Campbell is, because I googled him, so hey it was educational...

First of all, oh my God, I love Wild Thornberries, haha :D.
Second of all, I never like my own crying as far as the fetish goes. I guess I like it in that it makes me feel better (and I also cry over like, books and movies and stuff, so it's not like I'm super horrifically upset most of the time) but I just don't enjoy it like that. I guess the only side of it that it lets me imagine being comforted. Although, I don't really know, because the one time I cried in front of my friends and one of my male friends moved to hold me, I freaked out and ran away. It must be one of those things that seems nice in fantasy but in reality just embarrasses me too much.

Oh my God, I love that. James McAvoy is my favorite and that scene is just... amazing.

I LOVE trembling shoulders. Arms and hands not as much, though I suppose they're a nice add-on, and trembling lips sometimes squick me out.
