this was such a fun write

“I’m not crying, i’m not I swear.” She warbled.

Her elbows crossed in front of her face, leaving only her nose and lips visible. All it took was a pair of pursed lips and a peek of red flushing across her face and I was whipped. Sometimes i’d grasp her elbows and urge her to let me see, to tell me why she was feeding me like this. More often than not, she’d lower that long graceful neck and sink her bunny like teeth into my wrist, stating “A price to pay for salvation”. If I wanted her comfort, i had to accept her hurt.

“I mean, they loved each other though! He should have just told her! He knew she was leaving that Saturday and he said nothing!” Her raised voice ached with yearning, grieving two anthropomorphic lovers split by a great sea that her tears could fill. Oh my angel, she always cried something sweet. She’d sit and silently weep for eternity if i let her, though she never openly cried for more than five minutes at any given moment. A thumb found her face, tenderly erasing history the sad movie had made, It took more gentle coos and hushing before she shook with her sniffing.

“There’s always the chance of a sequel. I promise you, they’re more like us than we are like them, they’ll be back together” I stated, taking those long and soft arms outstretched for me. We teetered on the edge of the couch for a bit, tears soaking through my shirt as she cried. In an instant, she lifted her head. Her face twisted, bottom lip jutting out as her eyes filled.

“You said that about the Chinese pandas that broke up!” She wailed her false accusation, poking a perfectly manicured finger into my chest with a giggle. It was a hoarse giggle, followed by a coughing fit that by the end of, I knew she was over crying. she plucked her dainty hands from my shoulders to wildly wipe at her face. It seemed our five minutes are up as she steadied herself, rubbing her red nose and sucking her bottom lip into her mouth.

“Next Thursday at four?”
“I’ll see you then”

I love the way you describe crying.
