Enid's POV
We managed to get to the theatre in time for the play, entrusting Tristan's latest award to Mirabelle who promised to take it back to the flat.
While we were queuing up, we noticed a separate podium for a few of our fellow theatre goers. They seemed to be getting crossed off a list and I did wonder if they were Tony voters
We saw Poppy and Amit in the bar as well. She was looking forward to it having waited weeks for an appropriate ticket. She'd seen it in London too
'You'll cry buckets' she said to me. 'I did'
We took our seats a couple of rows behind Poppy and her husband and waited for the show to begin. The plot was about three siblings who were tidying up their parents house after their untimely death. Kiera who was playing Mara entered about ten minutes in. The two sisters argued not only about Mara deserting the family, but betraying them by having an inappropriate lover - who kept calling her.
I did cry a little a single tear running down my right cheek in the beginning and noticed one mistake. The sound effect of Mara's mobile phone was supposed to ring at one point but Kiera just carried on and answered it as if it had
Later when the two sisters found an old cassette tape from when they were kids, I cried again tears running down my cheeks.
The play ended with Mara onstage by herself, much happier as she spoke to her secret lover - still unknown by the end of the play
We gave the play a standing ovation and I reminded myself to ask Narinda what Leonora was like the following day
