I'm a bit hit an miss on this site too, only really due to busy lifestyle. However I will never be very far away. The posts on here are far too compelling and if I have anything interesting to share I usually manage to get it on here at some point. ![]()
| Crying Discussion » New Mum Emotions... » August 10, 2013 3:42 pm |
I watched a baby birthing programme once and the Dad was a soldier and heading to Afganistan very shortly afterwards. I remember him being worried that he would miss the birth. As it happened the baby arrived in time and he got very teary when it was born and it was really cute to see. However, what made it stand out to me was the fact that the mum was so intent on her new baby she had not noticed he was crying. When she found out afterwards she actually said she was disapponted to have missed it because she had NEVER seen him cry before lol. Obviously he was a pretty tough guy which made it even more sweet that he got emotional when his baby was born.
I have seen a few baby birthing programmes and I think that most women cry when their babies are born, but I love it when the new dads cry too. It's such a happy event so it's guilt free pleasure. ![]()

I guess I lean to the other side. I mostly cry alone and don't find it hard to cry alone. I am embarrassed to cry in front of my family members (cringe!) except for my husband. Even happy tears in front of my family embarrass me. I'm also embarrassed to cry in front of friends whether it be happy or sad tears. As a concept goes, right now I'm almost less embarrassed by the thought of crying in front of a stranger, since at least I could feel relieved that they would never see me again! But I guess it would depend on the context of the situation. It certainly would be embarrassing at the time, for sure.
This exactly sums up how I feel about this. I feel much more comfortable crying alone and would always try to wait until I was alone before giving in to tears if I possibly could. However I'm not embarrassed to cry in front of my husband (although may still fight the tears depending on the reason). The only other 2 people I would feel reasonably ok crying in front of would be my mum or my best friend. I would still fight the tears first but would not remove myself from the situation if I was with them like I would if I was with someone else.
Bizarrely though what I want most when I'm crying is to be hugged by someone and that means you have to be with someone for that to happen. Creates a bit of a conflict in my head!

I have been meaning to post this for a while. This is my favourite gold medal ceremony from the 2012 Olympics. Male of course. Very sweet!

Wow this was sooo cute. Shame he kept wiping the tears away I would have loved it if he let them fall unchecked. I cannot wait to see Les Mis!!

Hi,
thought I would post these. These are from the recent UK X factor. One of the contestants, called Rylan, had a few weepie moments (to say the least)
He is very tall, very gay and also pretty nice looking. (Hence why I enjoyed his crying moments. ![]()
This one is when he first found out he was going through to the live shows. It is totally over the top, didn't really do much for me, but it's hillarious and worth sharing.
Ok so maybe that was a little much lol, however this next one is much cuter, this is him crying over a contestant leaving and him feeling guilty that he's still in the competition.
This 2nd one totally did it for me and despite the fact he's gay I kinda fancy him now
oops lol.

Recently I went to see one of my favourite musical theatre shows. (Daren't say which one
).
I love this show and find the music and story quite emotional although it rarely makes me cry. I was also fortunate enough to have front row seats so had an amazing view.
When the show started I was so thrilled and excited to be there and also moved to hear the live orchestra that my lip trembled and my eyes filled with tears. I remember thinking, yikes I'm already getting emotional and it hasn't even started yet lol. I didn't cry actual tears though, as I managed to calm down and then settled into watching the show. A few further points during the show a got a but of a lump in my throat. However at the very end, when the last line was sung, I felt this emotion wash over me. It was not only the beautiful music/story but also the fact that the show was coming to an end and I was not sure when I would see it again. My lip trembled again and my vision blurred. I really though for a moment it was going to be full on tears but once again I calmed down relatively quickly and no tears actually fell. I found this interesting as I was not particularly trying to hold back the tears and yet, despite feeling very emotional, the tears did not fall.
Not much of an observation really, but to add to it... as I had front row seats I got a great view of the actors faces. One of the female leads had to do a crying scene early on in the show and I could actually see real tears streaming down her face! She physically had to wipe them away and she was making crying sounds and crumpling her face up, a very real performance. What a great actress.
