Hey Jez!  Yep, I am the same, if something really horrible happened to a man I love, I don't enjoy the tears so much as him getting them out and releasing...say if there's nothing that can be done about whatever made him cry.  I don't get off on other people being in pain or hurt...I just love the release that eventually leads to feeling better...and naturally find a solution to the problem.  Like you, I'm also emotional and empathic. I have a natural nurturing quality and love helping and being there for people.  The healing itself is magical and very attractive.  Not the pain, because I empathize too much and get upset or mad on others' behalf.
Men crying at movies or for happiness...YES.
Movies...anything goes, since they're fictional characters usually.  I agree about men crying and comforting each other.  Lots of tears streaming and dripping off the chin is very beautiful.

Hey jez, welcome!  I too love a man who can have a good cry.  In front of me or on the movies, doesn't matter. I love comforting sobbing men...especially when they allow me to.  That is a great turn on, when they can trust me enough to be vulnerable with me. I also love the movies where men break down sobbing and someone just holds them and they cry on their shoulders.
Anyway, good to meet you, there's lots of good threads on here. I'm fairly new myself, and like you, I am relieved that I'm not the only one who loves tears and the great Release of them.
Take care!

This is kind of borderline gross, but I like the idea of a man offering a woman a handkerchief that hasn't been washed since the last time he used it to dry his tears (I'm thinking very recently, and no nose-blowing).

HAHAHAHAH!!!    I love that, I really do. There are a couple cute and hilarious scenes that come to mind reading that.  Hopefully no one will be spoiled by this but those Harry Potter fans probably read the whole series by  now lol. But in the Deathly Hallows book, not the movie, and  I wish this WERE in the movie lol...there's a scene where Hermione is crying.  Ron, who is in love with her grabs a handkerchief, then realizes it's really gross lol.  So...he takes his wand...and uses magic to clean the handkerchief completely off.  He then gives the snot free handkerchief to Hermione.  Aww, it was SO adorable!  I think Hermione looked at Ron, lovingly after that
The other scene is from a movie with Steve Martin...I wish I remembered the name. It wasn't "Parenthood" or "L.A. Story," but whatever it was, his girlfriend was crying.  A friend of Steve Martin's gives her a handkerchief. She smiles and uses it to wipe her eyes. After a pause, Steve Martin says,
"You know, I really don't get it, this whole handkerchief thing.  You have one, you blow your nose, and then some girl starts crying. And then you give her this gift of a handkerchief, and she's supposed to feel so grateful to you as she rubs it all over her face?"
Steve Martin plays a bit of a jerk, lol, but he has his moments.    He's so hilarious when he says that though, and then when his girlfriend starts talking to him, you still see the tears on  her eyes and she's blotting them a bit.  She tells him she wants to have a baby and I think Steve Martin kind of melts at the end of the s

Omg, so  moving!!!  I wept, several times.  What open emotion there, and so much feeling!  What he said toward the end is soooo true as well.  I'm so glad I watched this finally!

I know what you mean, White Tulip.  Tissues are great when first pulled out of a box, but they get used up so quickly...handkerchiefs, especially thick large ones, are more durable lol. Yeah I know what you mean about elegant men.  Wiping sweat, or any such thing.  Offering handkerchiefs to crying women...yep!  :D  I offer handkerchiefs to everyone, when they're in tears...men too.  It's always a good segue into an epic crying friendship lol.

Used tissues from crying are a turn on to keep around, but I usually won't put them in my purse.   Eventually  I'll throw them away but I love putting used implements in my lap after a good cry...a wet hanky or a pile of tissues, and just fingering them a bit.  I love anything wet from tears...shirts, pillows, hair...lol.  I used to cry in bed and have the tears roll into my hair lol.  That's pretty epic as well.

Oh yeah, I love tissues, especially the sound of them being pulled out of the box lol.  Major turn on. :D  Yeah, they're good so long as I dispose of them. I used to keep them in my purse all the time...I also have this chronic condition with my nose where it fills up with congestion and I have to blow it a lot. So I need a lot of impliments for that.  Handkerchiefs are easier because they don't get all frayed and stuff, with white lint all over the place from the tissues lmao.  So yeah, they're my new thing.  But I will use tissues if they're around and I'm in the mood. :D

Chapter 3.  Fiona
I have no idea, no idea at all how I got through this day without a panic attack. I think because I had my mind on Zachary the whole time.  And he was panicking enough for both of us.
Rachel had been discharged by the time we got to Hannaman Hospital, which, by the way is a bitch to find parking in.  Zachary drove his car, which was not a good idea.  He knew it, I knew it, and since I knew he knew it, I didn’t bother to mention it. All that was on my mind was getting Zachary to see his kid.  His daughter, who was anorexic and had just tried to commit suicide.  The same way, it turned out, that Zachary’s mother had.
A heroin overdose.  Holy crap!
Upon learning that Rachel had been discharged and taken home by Laney, it was about an hour before Zachary found the car in the lot he’d parked in.  Once he got in, and we sped over to Laney’s in South Philly, we were treated to a pair of morons arguing in the middle of fifth street. A father and a son, seemingly.
“Did you hear from Z yet?” I asked Zachary, referring to his son.  Z was two years older than Rachel, and about to graduate high school.  Like Rachel, Z wasn’t what one would call close to his dad.
Zachary shook his head, and suddenly began to breathe heavily and violently. He fumbled in his pocket and whipped out a very large red bandana. He shook it several times before clutching it to his face with his right hand, his left hand navigating the steering wheel.  It was then that he sneezed, intensely.  He paused, face still covered, all but his eyes.  The large bandana moved slightly as it flowed over the hand that held it. Zachary let out a trembling sigh, then sneezed again, powerfully.  As he did so, several staccato-like sobs suddenly burst out of him.
“Oh!  Bless you, baby, twice over!” I said, putting my hand on his shoulder.
The light had just turned red.  Zachary slumped over a bit, and clutched the bandana tightly to his face with both hands.  He s

The 1992 movie Arizona Dream starring Johnny Depp, Faye Dunaway, and Jerry Lewis is one of the most powerful movies of his career, and not often mentioned due to his other more popular successes.
***SPOILER ALERT** for those who might not have seen this movie and want to see it:

Johnny's character Axl Blackmar is with his Uncle Leo(Jerry Lewis) in an ambulence as Leo has had a heart attack.  Leo dies before they get to the hospital.  This is such a tender scene...I find  myself just so drawn to want to hug Johnny and brush those tears from his cheeks.  His crying starts in the beginning but doesn't become sobbing til 1:40.  The sobbing isn't loud but it's audible and just perfect...so sweet and vulnerable.  Even though he rarely cries in all his movies, his vulnerability moves me more than that of most men, even those I know in real life.  Just so authentic and full of pure love.   Aah, to know him in person..sigh!      That's a whole other ball of yarn.   Oh well!  ;)

Epic acting by Lewis in a serious role as well.  Enjoy!
