Nice obs! Yeah, I think some people forget that therapists are people too, and have emotions. I was talking to someone once about my therapist and they asked if I knew my therapist’s full name. I told them, and they were surprised I knew it. They said that some people don’t know their counselor’s full name. I found it interesting.
I agree that your counselor acted professionally. He gathered himself before seeing you, and he addressed his crying without interrupting your session.
I hope he’s feeling better!

Me too. If it makes it any better, I imagine that in a few months, Theo and Devon will be reunited and perfectly content.

[I usually try to write a happy ending for all the stories I write, but this one ends on a bit of a sad note. I hope you guys don't mind.]

[Context: Theo earned a very exclusive spot in an internship program based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The problem is that his boyfriend, Devon, cannot move from San Francisco without forfeiting his own internship. They will have to live apart for a few months.]
“Dev, where’d I put my dress shoes?” Theo asks, opening the closet door and looking inside for what has to be at least the third time. He abandons the closet and gets on his knees to look under the bed. He lifts up the bedskirt. There’s only a few small boxes and a couple stray socks under there. Theo stands up and looks over at Dev, who’s lying on the bed, browsing what--Tumblr? “C’mon, Dev. I know you don’t want me to leave, but I have to. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me.”

Devon’s thumb hovers over a certain post, but Theo knows he isn’t reading it. Theo walks over to the side where Devon’s lying and stands there, waiting. He folds his arms.

“Devon. Talk to me.”

Devon finally sets his phone down and looks up at Theo. Without warning, tears fill Devon’s eyes. He sits up and sighs miserably. Theo sits beside him and wraps an arm around his shoulder, feeling terrible for leaving only six months into their marriage.

[color=#000000]“I just don’t want you to go,” Devon says, his voice trembling. Tears drip down his face one after another, in quick succession. They leave salty wet trails on his face. At the sight of Devon’s tears, Theo starts to well up. He wipes a few of Devon’s tears with his free hand. Devon catches Theo’s hand and nestles his face into the crook of Theo’s neck. In response, Theo gather

Cool. Yeah, mascara is only the thing you use for your eyes. I don’t think there’s a specific word in English that describes a full face of makeup. Lol, oh well.

Beautiful obs! I think to most people, crying in church (for a spiritual reason) is more acceptable. At least, in my religion, a guy can cry in church and people won't think much of it.

On a different note, I've never heard anyone say "rimmel" instead of mascara. That comes from the Spanish word, right? El rimel?

[I hope you guys enjoy this one.]

Hearing a faint knock at the front door, Lauren walks out of the kitchen, looks through the door’s peephole, and opens it.

“Hey,” Lauren smiles and steps back from the door.

“What’s up?” Jessica walks in, returning the smile.

Lauren closes the door. “Nothing much. Just making the popcorn. Speaking of, I think it should be ready by now.” As if on cue, the microwave beeps from the kitchen. “You can go ahead and start looking for a movie. I think it’s your turn to decide.”

“Aye, aye!” Jessica skips in the direction of Lauren’s bedroom. Lauren heads into the kitchen to retrieve the popcorn. Pouring the popcorn into a large bowl, Lauren grins as she wonders if Jessica will cry during whichever movie they pick. The slightly-younger girl is as tough as nails, but not when it comes to movies. It doesn’t even matter if the movie is well-made or crappy--if it has any emotional content, Jessica will cry.

When Lauren walks into the bedroom, Jessica is sitting in the beanbag chair and reading a description of The Last Song, starring Miley Cyrus. Lauren laughs. “If you want to keep your makeup looking that way, you might want to choose another movie. I’ve seen it before, and it’s super sad.”

Jessica shrugs, smiling. “I’m in the mood for a chick flick. Besides, I haven’t had a good cry in a while.”

Lauren grabs a pillow from her bed, sets the popcorn between Jessica and her, and lies down. “If that’s what you want, go for it.”

[color=#000000]Jessica takes off her coat and reaches for the remote. She pauses.“Wait. Do you have a hair tie I could borrow? The wind
